JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – When John Gaughan become Chief Meteorologist at WJXT-Channel 4 in 2009, he had big shoes to fill.

Taking over the role that had been held for nearly 50 years by the legendary George Winterling would be a daunting task. Learning from George would be key in John’s career as hurricanes would become more frequent and more fervent.
