‘Brag & Tag’ about your community on SnapJAX

Pins photos & videos showing what makes your hometown special

"Brag & tag" about what makes your community so special in the SnapJAX Community Challenge. (WJXT)

We all know Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia are special places to live.

From the coastline along the Golden Isles and First Coast to the beauty that stretches along the banks of the St. Johns River and all points in between, our little part of the world could be considered a well-known hidden gem.

That’s why News4JAX wants you to help us highlight all of it. This summer, we are challenging everyone who lives in our coverage area to ‘brag & tag’ about their hometown in the SnapJAX Community Challenge. Each week, we will focus on one or more specific counties to show all of the people, places and popular things that make each of those places special to live in.

For example, Boneyard Beach in northeast Duval County or the Bronson-Mulholland House in Palatka. There’s also beautiful Ichetucknee Springs State Park in Columbia County or the historical Cumberland Island in Camden County. Maybe it’s your favorite restaurant, like the original Grumpy’s in Orange Park. It could even be someone you know that makes your community a great place to live. Even your pet!

We will share some of the best photos in our newscasts and newsletters, as well as on our social media channels so your work can be highlighted. You can even connect with other members of your community by liking their post and leaving a comment. There might even be a special prize for the County with the most posts.

IMPORTANT: In each post, be sure to tell us which county and city or town the picture was taken in and a little information about what we’re seeing.

Here’s when and where each group will be featured:

Week of:
  • June 12 – Clay County
  • June 19 – Baker and Nassau Counties
  • June 26 – Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Clinch, Glynn, Pierce and Ware Counties
  • July 3 – Bradford, Columbia, Hamilton and Union Counties
  • July 10 – St. Johns County
  • July 17 – Duval County
  • July 24 – Flagler and Putnam Counties

Watch meteorologist Katie Garner on The Morning Show all summer long. During The Weather Authority forecast – she’ll share some of your photos.
