After serving more than 18 years in the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2, Kertrina Jones is seen as more than a hero to her family and friends. Receiving more than a dozen nominations for the contest, she was described as being an angel to the people in her life. In her nomination, one of Kertrina’s supporters had this to say about her:
“Trina’s life of service flows from a commitment -- instilled in her by her mother, her faith, and military service -- to always put the needs of others before her own. If she were to win a new vehicle, she would use it to further her life of service.”
