Jacksonville’s best road race (running): Emerald Trail 5K & 10K

The annual Emerald Trail 5K and 10K, sponsored by VyStar Credit Union and presented by JTC Running and 1st Place Sports, is your pick for Jacksonville’s best road race.
The event takes runners, walkers and cyclists along the LaVilla Link — which is the first segment of the Emerald Trail. Other points of interest include the S-Line Rail Link including the Warehouse District, Sugar Hill Mosaic and the Biodiversity Corridor.
All proceeds from this event benefit Groundwork Jacksonville, the city’s nonprofit partner in building the Emerald Trail and restoring McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek.

The 30-mile Emerald Trail is a public-private partnership between the city of Jacksonville and Groundwork that will ultimately connect 14 historic urban neighborhoods to downtown, the St. Johns River, McCoys Creek and Hogans Creek. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by 2029.
