JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Powerball Jackpot is up to $685 million with a cash option worth more than $344 million. The next drawing is on Wednesday at 10:59 p.m.
One woman told News4Jax early Wednesday morning that she already had a plan in place if she were to win.
“I would pay off my car loans and my rent,” said Kristen Purvis. “God knows what else and [I would] help my mom.”
This has been a lucky year for the Jacksonville area.
There were two huge Mega Millions wins from two different Publix stores about a week apart
In August, a lucky winner bought a Mega Millions ticket worth $1.6 billion.
And this week, News4JAX learned the winner claimed the prize under a limited liability company called “Saltines Holdings.” The company is registered in Delaware.
A lot of winners do that or use a trust fund to conceal their identity.
Exactly one week after the August win, luck struck again at a different Publix store on Roosevelt Boulevard.
Someone bought the winning ticket for a $36 million jackpot.
So far, no one has claimed that prize, and the winner has until Feb. 4, 2024, to do so.
On Christmas Day, someone in Georgia won a $2 million Powerball prize.
