Making Ends Meet: Apps that can save you money on groceries

With inflation raising grocery prices by 21% in the past three years, people are getting creative when it comes to saving money.

The Associated Press recently looked at six apps people are using to save.

Their recommendations:

Find apps to help you track the items you have at home and plan out meals before you head to the store.

Apps like Any List or Mealtime can help with that, or you can make a list in your phone’s notes app.

They also recommend browsing for coupons.

Apps like Flipp and Ibotta can help you find coupons and also get you cash back for the things you buy.

Finally, save using food-sharing apps.

The app Olio connects people in the community to share extra grocery items, and the Too Good to Go app can help you buy surplus food at a discount.

Consumer experts say the best thing to do is plan ahead and shop around.

Keep in mind that the best deal might not be at a grocery store. Make sure to check online deals, too.
