Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth $740 million, the fourth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
If you buy a ticket -- or have some from recent drawings -- there is a simple way to check them without waiting in line at the grocery store.
You can check your ticket from home using the Florida lottery app.
Here’s how it works:
- Download and open the ap
- At the bottom of the screen, tap “Check My Ticket”
- Scan the barcode on your ticket to see your results
But it’s important to note that the app isn’t foolproof and it can be sluggish the day after a big drawing.
We scanned our office pool tickets from Wednesday’s drawing and even though it said we won nothing, we actually won $4.
The app has other handy features. You can see the odds in all of the lottery games, but you might not like what you learn.
The chance of winning the Mega Millions grand prize is 1 in 302 million. -- that’s if you match all six numbers.
Friday’s drawing is at 11 p.m., but you must purchase your ticket before 10 p.m.
