JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Homicide detectives are investigating after a man and a woman were found dead of gunshot wounds in the front yard of an Eastside home.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to the home in the 1000 block of Spearing Street shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday after neighbors heard multiple gunshots.

Witnesses said a car sped north on Spearing Street after the shootings, but no description of the shooters or car was available.
Angelita Drinks, 50, and Douglas Carroll, 41, were found dead in the yard.
Officers on scene said this is not the first time JSO has been to this house. Sgt. Shawn Coarsey said it's a great possibility that drugs were involved.
"The house is known to be a drug house," Coarsey said. "I know we've had some dealings with this house in the past."
At least six JSO vehicles were on scene during the investigation, and Spearing Street was closed to East First Street.
