A 17-year-old passenger in the pickup was killed at the scene.  The driver and another passenger were taken to Mayo Clinic in Waycross with non-life-threatening injures.

The name of the student who died was not released Friday night.

All of the 41 children on the bus were evaluated by paramedics. One was transported to Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick with minor injuries. Seven other students had minor complaints and their parents were contacted to pick them up.

The road was closed for about two hours while the accident was investigated and cleared by state troopers and the Brantley County Sheriff's Office.
