Troopers said the big rig rear-ended a car, which caused a chain reaction involving three other cars. The tractor-trailer then went toward the right side of the roadway and struck two other cars, pushing them into the right shoulder and into a concrete sound barrier, troopers said.
The drivers of those two cars were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
The roadway was closed for about two hours while troopers investigated.
