JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who told police he was so intoxicated he doesn't remember the altercation is accused of stabbing another man to death behind a Southside laundromat last month.
Two hours before police found 57-year-old Earl Griffin dead behind a coin laundry in the strip mall at the corner of Southside and Beach boulevards, police arrested Charles Reeder, 40, on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence. According to that arrest report, Reeder was reported to be begging for money from people inside the laundromat earlier that night.

During his arrest that night, Reeder talked about how bad his life was and asked the arresting officer several times to "blow his brains out."
After the autopsy report showed Griffin died of multiple sharp force injuries to the head and neck, Reeder was interviewed again. Police say Reeder admitted he and the victim could have been in an altercation that led to Griffin's death, "but he does not remember."
Reeder was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder.
Police say both Griffin and Reeder were transients.
