JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 13-year-old old girl was found dead inside a Northside home Saturday afternoon in what appears to be an accidental shooting, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Lt. Rob Schoonover said police were called to a home in the 11300 block of Riverstone Way just afer 3 p.m. to investigate a shooting.
Schoonover said several children -- ages 13, 11, 10, 9 and 1 -- were in the home without adult supervision when a shooting occurred.
Schoonover said it appears the children were playing with the firearm when it went off, hitting the 13-year-old.

Williams said Mitchell is a student at LaVilla School of the Arts.
"She came to spend the night, got a phone call...my baby girl's gone," Williams said.
Schoonover said a weapon was found in the home and that the other 4 children were being taken to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office for questioning.
Jarrell Hardeman was playing basketball outside just minutes before the shooting and may have been one of the last people who saw Mitchell alive.
"She came out and told the boy that he needs to come in because the parents were coming in a few minutes and we all left and next thing you know, we came out and saw a whole bunch of police cars and we were like, 'That's weird because we just left and life is short,'" Hardeman said.
Police have not said how the children got a hold of the gun or who owns the home.
