ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – As Mumford and Sons and the other bands arrive arrive in St. Augustine for the Gentlemen of the Road festival, so will opportunistic people looking for an easy mark.
St. Augustine police urge people coming to the city or parking at one of the satellite parking lots and riding a shuttle to the Francis Field to remember to lock your vehicle and set the alarm.

"If there is something you do not need for the concert, leave it at home. If it is something you need, put it in the trunk for safe keeping," said Mark Samson, public information officer for the St. Augustine Police Department, which will have officers out in force patrolling the city.
Those staying at local hotels or bed and breakfast establishments are urged to use a safe, if available. Manual and electronic door locks can be compromised and defeated by almost anyone with a little knowledge.
At the same time, a little planning and diligence on your part will help you stay connected with you property. Police urge people to write down all of your serial numbers of your property, that could help reunited you with your property.
Police also remind visitors that all city ordinances will remain effect throughout the weekend, so open containers of alcohol are prohibited on city street and city property. Bicycles are not allowed on sidewalks; ride in the roadway.
