FORT WHITE, Fla. – The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding the man who robbed a Fort White gas station clerk at gunpoint on Friday.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the unknown suspect stole approximately $3,500 from the Chevron gas station off SW Highway 27 in Fort White before fleeing the store on foot.
No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is a white male approximately 6'1" to 6'2", with a medium build.
He was armed with an unknown caliber large frame black revolver and was last seen wearing a white winter cap with tassels, a light colored bandanna over his face, a black long sleeve shirt, black pants and blue gloves.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the Florida Highway Patrol, and the Florida Department of Corrections responded to the scene with K-9's to search for the suspect.
The search by K-9 officers led to an area where the suspect was believed to have fled in an unknown vehicle.
