ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A Clay County school bus driver was ticketed for improper backing after hitting a Ford pickup on Friday.
Florida Highway Patrol says John Lutsch, 53, was stopped in the left turn lane on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway around 3:15 p.m. A Ford F-150 pickup being driven by Thomas Mitchell, 44, was behind the bus. FHP says Lutsch began backing up and the rear of the bus collided with the front of the pickup.

FHP says Lutsch said he was lost and was attempting to back up in order to get out of the turn lane, and he did not see the pickup.
No children were on the bus at the time. Mitchell suffered minor injuries.
