PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – A stranded bottlenose dolphin is undergoing rehabilitation in the Florida panhandle.

The Gulf World Marine Institute in Panama City Beach responded to a call about a stranded female dolphin on Sunday.

The animal was in critical condition and had many internal and external parasites.  She was also being treated for pneumonia.

The Gulf World Marine Institute said Monday the dolphin was swimming on her own.
