FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A teenager was killed and five others were hurt when their boat crashed into a bridge in Fort Lauderdale.
The 17-foot boat hit a bridge in the south fork of the Middle River near Northeast 18th Court and Dixie Highway about midnight Thursday, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officer Amanda Phillips said.
"I think they were maybe just looking around, not looking ahead," Phillips said.
The injured teenagers were taken to Broward Health Medical Center; where three are in critical condition. The remaining two are being treated for minor injuries.
At least one teenager was released from the hospital about 5 a.m.
