CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Lakeside Junior High School was briefly evacuated Tuesday morning because of a bomb threat placed over the phone, according to Gavin Rollins, spokesperson for the Clay County School District.
The threat was made shortly before 10 a.m. All students and faculty were safely evacuated to the gym by 10:30 a.m.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office did a thorough sweep and investigation and determined everything was safe, according to Lakeside Junior High's website.
Many parents arrived at the school to find out what was going on and said they hadn't received any notification from the school.
"We can't communicate before we actually are even aware of what's happening," Rollins said. "As soon as we knew that everything was clear, we communicated that via Facebook, via our parent notification, so if they have the app they'll get that right to their phone. Mr. McDonald's doing a call home right now. We worked as quickly as possible to communicate both with the media and through our communication networks to parents, so that we can calm parents.
"We want to make sure that we take every necessary precaution, but we also want to make sure parents aren't alarmed in this process."
Detectives are investigating the origin of the call and anyone with information about the threat is asked to call the Clay County Sheriff's Office at 904-264-6512.
