Givens told the officer he was walking on Franklin Street, when a black male wearing a camouflage jacket and black pants fired several shots at him from a cream-colored Impala. Givens said the car then fled the area headed west on 21st Street.
A search of the area for the suspect's vehicle was conducted by responding units, but was unsuccessful. Givens did not wish to further cooperate or seek prosecution.
