JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Harold Thomas Hammond, 54, was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison after he was found guilty of murdering 45-year-old Kenneth Solada in February 2009.
Police said Hammond and Solada got into an argument over drugs at Solada's home on 103rd Street in Jacksonville. During the fight, Hammond shot Solada twice in the head.

Hammond cleaned up the crime scene and threw the gun in a neighbor's yard before fleeing, police said.
Hammond was found guilty of second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, battery and two counts of tampering with evidence. His sentence carries a 28-year mandatory minimum sentence.
