JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sheridan Landell Veney, 46, was sentenced Friday to life in prison for the 2013 shooting death of 42-year-old Lisa Veney.
Police said they found Lisa Veney at the Applebee's on Lane Avenue in December 2013 suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigation revealed the victim and Sheridan Veney were separated at the time.

On the night of the shooting, the Veneys' daughter was in town for the holidays and was with her parents at the Applebee's, police said. The parents got into an argument and when Lisa Veney got up to leave, Sheridan Veney followed her to the front door and fired five shots.
Lisa Veney was hit four times in the shooting. She was taken to the hospital, where she died from her wounds.
