Man accused of attacking women with cane, pitchfork

YULEE, Fla. – A 44-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after Nassau County deputies say a dispute escalated and he attacked two women with a cane and a pitchfork at a Hilliard home.

Deputies said William Obermeyer was watching television with Dana Wine, 61, at her home when they got into an argument. According to the report, When Wine told Obermeyer to leave, he punched her in the face. Deputies said Latasha King tried to pull Obermeyer off Wine, but he grabbed Wine’s walking cane and hit her with it, then hit Wine over the head with such force that the cane broke.

The report said Obermeyer grabbed a pitchfork from the porch and tried to stab King in the torso. She dodged it, but got scraped on the leg. Obermeyer fled, deputies said..

Obermeyer was later arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a weapon.
