PALATKA, Fla. – Students headed to the Putnam Academy of Arts and Sciences were involved in a school bus accident on the way to class Wednesday morning.
According to the Palatka Police Department and the Putnam County School Board, 21 students were on board when the bus driver rear-ended the vehicle in front of her. Matt Newcomb with the Palatka Police Department, reports the bus driver did not notice the car in front of her and as a result, rear-ended the vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The bus driver was cited was careless driving.
Kirk Collier with the Putnam County School District tells News4Jax that one student did go to the hospital after reporting a headache from the accident.
The other students on board the bus were not injured.
