A witness told deputies that he saw three men, who were wearing dark clothing, take off in a four-door sedan.
Moments after deputies arrived at the AT&T store, a vehicle matching that description -- black Volkswagen Jetta with Florida tag Y85ISS -- was spotted westbound on Palm Cost Parkway, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Before deputies could stop the car, they said the driver of the Jetta lost control and crashed at the Mobile gas station access road and the three inside ran off.
A Volusia County Sheriff's Office helicopter was called to help search for the three people, but they were not located, deputies said.
Investigators said they will be reviewing the store's surveillance video.
