KISSIMMEE, Fla. – An Osceola County Sheriff’s deputy was shot outside of a bar in the Old Town area of Kissimmee early Sunday morning.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office told WKMG-TV Angel Manual Lopez, 28, was arrested and charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.

Deputies who were working at Old Town responded to a disturbance call at Sun on the Beach on 5770 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
After all individuals involved were separated, Deputy John Rios, who overheard Lopez was armed, followed him as he was exiting the bar.
Rios attempted to detain Lopez and a brief struggle ensued. Lopez fired his weapon, striking Rios in his leg.
Rios was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released.
Osceola County deputies did not fire their weapons.
Lopez was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer along with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, carrying a concealed firearm, discharging a firearm in public, use of a firearm under the influence of alcohol, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, resisting without violence and additional charges pending.
Lopez is a documented gang member with an extensive criminal history.
Lopez was booked into the Osceola County Jail.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting.
