The Sheriff's Office said deputies got a tip just after 11 p.m. Friday about a wanted man staying at the Scottish Inn on SW 13th Street. When deputies arrived, Palazzollo, was in the parking lot and threatened to kill either himself or force law enforcement to shoot him. Palazzollo ran between two buildings and when he emerged, deputies ordered him to drop his weapon.
When the man refused deputies’ commands, they fired shot. The Sheriff's Office said Palazzollo died at the scene, and no deputies or bystanders were injured.
