JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 57-year old woman who was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Monday, died after being transported from the jail to a local hospital.
Verna Maria Nairn was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance at 3:52 p.m. Monday and was taken to a local hospital Tuesday at 7:32 a.m. while "feeling ill," according to the Sheriff's Office.

Nairn died at the hospital a short time later, police said.
Detectives said no foul play is suspected and the investigation is active and ongoing.
