JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man robbed a Wells Fargo branch Friday afternoon near the Ortega area on the city's Westside, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The robbery was reported just after 2 p.m. at the bank on San Juan Avenue at Herschel Street.

Police said a man walked in, demanded money from a teller and then ran off.
No gun was seen and no one was hurt during the incident, police said.
The bank robbery was the first of this year. There were 12 robberies or attempted holdups at financial institutions.
