A fellowship hall will be built in honor of Wayne Wilson Jr., a former Normandy Cowboys athlete.
His father remembers the day his son said their community needed a learning center.
"We got in the car. He said, 'Dad, if I ever come up and become a pro, I’m going to put a computer lab in a community where it’s well needed,'" Wilson Sr. said.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be Saturday at 5 p.m.
The building will house a fellowship hall, an area for the homeless and a computer lab.
