JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The day after strong storms streamed across the southeast, air travel is still recovering. A total of 20 flights were impacted Friday morning. Six flights scheduled to depart from Jacksonville International Airport on Friday morning were canceled and five more were delayed.

Seven scheduled arriving flights were impacted, with a Delta flights from Atlanta and a Jet Blue arrival from Washington/Reagan canceled.

Travelers were urged to allow more time than usual to deal with delays at the airport.

"They haven't told us much of anything, except that Atlanta is basically shut down," said Brad Whipple, who was waiting to fly out Friday morning. "They are trying to reroute flights or scheduling everybody for later in the day."
