JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gov. Rick Scott stopped in Jacksonville on Tuesday as he toured the state to honor businesses that he said are boosting Florida's economy with more jobs.
Jacksonville’s Sunteck TTS, a transportation logistics company, made Scott's list, and Mayor Lenny Curry was also on hand to applaud the company's effort.

Scott has made his goal of bringing over 1 million jobs to the state very clear and highlighted Sunteck TTS as one of the companies making that happen with 80 new jobs in the last two years.
Sunteck TTS was presented with the Governor's Business Ambassador Award.
As Scott's tour continues Tuesday with a trip to the Gulf Coast and Tampa, he said he hopes the Legislature will come to a budget agreement before the regular session ends Friday.
“That’s the Legislature’s job, and hopefully they will get it done this week,” Scott said. “And then at the end, I will review it to make sure that I make the decision that is best for our state.”
He would not say whether he would sign a recent bill approved by the Legislature that would remove the “liquor wall” at stores. Some smaller liquor stores have opposed the bill, saying that it would hurt small businesses.
“The bill has not come to my desk yet, so I haven’t seen the bill yet,” Scott said.
With several candidates announcing their plans to run for the governor's seat in 2018, Scott also declined to say whether he would be endorsing anyone.
“There are a lot of people that want to get in the race. This is a great job,” he said. “My goal is the next governor is somebody who is going to focus on jobs. I grew up in a family without jobs, so I know that the most important thing you can do is give a family a job. When you do that, they get to live a better life.”
