These tests ensure that JU’s emergency alert system is running properly and to protect against future malfunction.

The siren is part of the university’s emergency communications toolkit and is activated in the event of dangerous, severe weather in the area.

Should you hear the siren during an actual weather emergency, you are advised to remain indoors and take cover on the lowest floor of any campus building, away from any doors or windows.
