JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 44-year-old man was rescued from a boat off the coast of Mayport Friday after suffering burns in a boat fire, The U.S. Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard was notified at 9:40 p.m. that a crew member aboard the fishing boat Charlotte Marie suffered burn injuries during a fire about 40 miles off the coast.

A Coast Guard helicopter from Savannah, Georgia, hoisted the man at 11:15 p.m. and flew him to UF Health Jacksonville.
