JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Family and friends of the 17-year-old found dead near his Sandalwood home Wednesday gathered Friday night at the nearby high school to celebrate his life.
Tyon Blair was shot and killed, and police have called his death suspicious.
More than a dozen people came out to show just how much the 17-year-old was loved, listen to his favorite music and hoist balloons of his favorite colors.
The teen’s parents and four siblings were too upset to speak, but family friend Lynette Lee spoke for Tyon's mother.
"She just want everyone to know that he was loved. He was a good kid," Lee said. "(She) just wants to find out who did it."
Lee said the Sandalwood student was set to interview for a promising job the day he was found dead.
"He was a kind, low-key dude. He hung out with the neighborhood kids, but he wasn't a bad kid," Lee said. "Everyone loved him."
As his family mourns, they hope the person responsible sees how much Tyon meant to this world and will come forward.
"If you know anything or who did this, please call Crime Stoppers," Lee said. "Do what you need to do because nobody deserves to lose their life like you all did him."

Tyon's family has not announced funeral arrangements.
