Malachi Morris is charged with child neglect.

According to the affidavit for arrest warrant, Morris told officers he fed the baby the morning of March 19, and then bathed him.

The baby was crying, and a man who lives in the home told officers the child didn't sound right, the document said.

About 5:30 p.m. later that day, 911 was called and the baby was taken to Orange Park Medical Center and then airlifted to Wolfson Children's Hospital, where the child underwent emergency surgery "due to severe cranial bleeding," the affidavit said.

A nurse told police the baby had been vomiting, limp, unresponsive and had seizures.

It's unclear exactly what happened to cause the child's injuries. But according to the affidavit, Morris allowed detectives to look through his cellphone, on which they found searches between 2:23 p.m. and 2:34 p.m. for "seizures," "panic attacks," "panic attacks -- seizures" and "child seizures."

He was eventually charged with neglect because it was determined that Morris knew something was wrong with the child, but waited nine hours until getting the child medical help, the affidavit said.

The report said "there was great bodily harm" to the baby.

Morris was booked into the Duval County Jail, where he's being held on $75,000 bond.
