JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former NFL player Jabar Gaffney has been charged with domestic battery causing minor injury in an incident involving his live-in girlfriend, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
The former Raines High School and University of Florida football player was arrested Tuesday morning at his Queen's Harbour home after police were called following an argument between Gaffney and the girlfriend, whose name was not released. The arrest report said the two “live together as a family and have been together for 1½ years.”

Police said Gaffney, 36, took his middle and index fingers and poked his girlfriend on her forehead during the argument, leaving a small red bump above her left eye.
She told police he said “she should be glad she doesn't have a black eye,” and then left the house, according to the report.
When he came back, she was on the phone with police, and he left again, yelling “good luck in court,” the arrest report said.
The girlfriend told the officers that physical violence has occurred multiple times between Gaffney and her, but she never reported it to police before.
When Gaffney returned to the home, he denied touching his girlfriend but was “completely cooperative with the investigation,” the arrest report said.
The girlfriend packed up her things and left the home, police said.
There were no witnesses to the domestic incident, according to the report.
