Jacksonville City Council passes Kids Hope Alliance bill

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville City Council on Tuesday night passed a bill that forms the new Kids Hope Alliance.

The legislation will merge the Jacksonville Children's Commission and Jacksonville Journey into one group.

The only member to vote against the plan was Councilman Garrett Dennis, who had his own competing legislation.

Mayor Lenny Curry backed the Kids Hope Alliance, saying it would reform children's services in the city and create more accountability.
