JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At least four people died Friday night in a fiery crash in the Whitehouse area, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a car and an SUV collided head-on at about 9:30 p.m. on West Beaver Street at Otis Road. Two pickup trucks were then involved in a secondary crash.

Rescue crews tried to save four people trapped inside a Toyota Corolla that caught fire after the crash. Troopers said the driver of that car and two of four passengers died. Two other passenger were listed as critically injured.
The driver of the Jeep Patriot involved in the head-on crash also killed. The drivers of the two pickup trucks had minor injuries. Only one was taken to a hospital.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the FHP both responded to the crash. Troopers were conducting the accident investigation and were expected to release more information about the crash and identify the victims on Saturday.
