JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested Wednesday after ramming a police cruiser with a car, which led to a pursuit, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Emmette Page, 37, is charged with aggravated battery on police, possession of cocaine and marijuana, eluding police, tampering with evidence, and driving without a license.
According to the Sheriff's Office, an officer pulled Page over on Bert Road in Arlington for a seat belt violation. Page argued with the officer and then threw his car in reverse, ramming the cruiser twice and sparking a chase, police said.
The pursuit went onto the Arlington Expressway, where Page drove east in the westbound lanes, throwing drugs out of the window of his car, police said.
The chase then went south onto Southside Boulevard and onto Duskin Road, where another officer used a PIT maneuver on Page, which resulted in him turning onto Ivey Road in the Holiday Hill/Century 21 area, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Police said the man, who was driving a silver car, pulled into a cul-de-sac and was arrested.
The officer was not injured.
