JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An American Airlines flight landed safely Tuesday night at Jacksonville International Airport after a mechanical issue, the airline said in a news release.
According to a spokesperson for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority, there were 41 people on board the plane.

American Airlines said flight 3798 was heading from Miami International Airport to John Glenn International in Columbus, Ohio. An indictor light in the cockpit reported a possible mechanical issue.
The aircraft landed without issue and taxied to the gate, American Airlines said. A statement from the airline read in part:
"Our maintenance team is evaluating the aircraft. We never want to disrupt our customers' travel plans, and we are sorry for the trouble this caused. Our team is working to get them to Columbus as soon as possible."
On Monday, a JetBlue flight made an emergency landing in Jacksonville. A plane with 152 people on board landed safely at JAX after a fire sensor went off.
