Showtimes, parking for revamped water show at Friendship Fountain

After years-long closure, revamped Friendship Fountain reopened Thursday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Friendship Fountain put on a magical performance for hundreds of community members Thursday as the revamped attraction was unveiled.

The new fountain, which was closed for many years, features better mechanics, more entertainment, and water that dances to lights and sounds. The revamp includes a new pavement design around the fountain, new landscaping, and circular seating so sightseers can take a break to enjoy the light and water show.

The experience can be compared to a smaller version of the “Fountains of Bellagio” water show in Las Vegas or something you would see at Disney World.

Showtimes

The City of Jacksonville told News4JAX that community members can catch the fountain show every night at 7:30, 8:00, and 8:30 p.m. Each show features four genres of songs in each show. The fountain is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Parking and Tips

According to Google, there are a few parking options drivers have when they visit Friendship Fountain. There is a parking lot under the Acosta Bridge, parking behind MOSH, and more. Look at the map below. Parking is identified with the letter “P.”

Friendship Fountain is located at Friendship Park on the Southbank, just west of Main Street. The address is 1015 Museum Circle Jacksonville FL 32207.

Avoid the wet zones

Before you watch the show, you should know that wind speed and direction may decide where you should stand. On Thursday, those standing near the water, closer to the Main Street Bridge, got wet when the streams of water shot up from the fountain. We advise those watching the show to stand closer to Jacksonville’s Museum of Science and History (MOSH).

Enjoy the show!
