JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A teenager was killed and another was sent to the hospital with a bullet wound following a shooting in Northwest Jacksonville Monday night.
Family said the 19-year-old who died at a local hospital was Keyshawn Rankin.

Sgt. Shawn Coarsey with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the two teens were shot by an unknown suspect at the corner of Moncrief Road and Golfair Boulevard some time before 10 p.m.
Police reports said at least one of the victims was shot inside the Quickway Convenience store on Moncrief Road. The other victim was found lying unresponsive on the ground near the store.
The convenience store was also damaged by some of the bullets.
Rankin only lived a couple blocks from the shooting scene.
The 16-year-old was being treated for a gunshot wound. His condition was not known, and his name was not released.
A man, who declined to give his name but said he was Rankin’s cousin, said he was with Rankin after he was shot and tried to help with the bleeding.
“This happens every day. It happens every day,” the man said.
Other neighbors expressed frustration.
"You know, it’s crazy. I want to leave up in here," Linda Bell said. "Every time I turn around somebody’s shooting out here. Kids can’t be outside on the sidewalk because they're always shooting out here. It don’t make sense."
Bell said Rankin was a nice person.
“Yes he was, he was very respectable,” Bell said. “From the time I know him we called him Kiki. He was always respectable, always held a conversation with you and all that.”
Coarsey said detectives were in the process of interviewing the surviving teen and witnesses but no suspect information was available.
News4Jax looked into the overall crime in the neighborhood through the JSO website. So far this year, there have been 48 simple assaults, 26 aggravated assaults and other crimes, including 20 home burglaries and seven robberies.
News4Jax crime and safety analyst Gil Smith said one priority for police if figuring out why shots were fired Monday.
"It’s not necessarily going to be gang-related," Smith said. "There could be some sort of other conflict in the community. Something might have happened in the club or something and then they retaliated, so they’ll do the investigation, talk with them, just see what they can get."
