CSX plans renovations to downtown Jacksonville headquarters

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – CSX Corp. wants to renovate their downtown Jacksonville headquarters building, according to the Daily Record.

According to the Daily Record, the city is reviewing a building permit for Auld & White Constructors, Inc. to renovate the 15th-floor executive offices at 500 Water Street.

The renovations were estimated to cost $1.85 million and comes on the heels of job cuts and the introduction of a new CEO.

Plans show remodeling of 20,450 square feet for offices, conference rooms, a recording studio, work cafe, a warming kitchen and more, including the C-Suite which appears to be for new CEO Hunter Harrison and two other top executives, according to the Daily Record.

CSX said the building was constructed in 1959 and opened in 1960. It's comprised of almost 487,000 square feet of space.

CSX also owns the nearby 17-story building at 550 Water Street.
