What do you see as the top three issues in this race?
How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
I am the only candidate in this race that has held this position, as I am the current Clerk of the Circuit Court. My more than 35 years of experience working in both the private and public sectors makes me uniquely qualified. My experience working in City Hall for Mayor John Delaney and serving as City Council President, along with my experience operating a First Coast Top 50 business prepared me for this role.
I have an in-depth knowledge of the complexity of the county and state functions, and experience working with the legislature. This aids in my role as advocate for the Clerk's employees and the citizens of Duval County as our voice in Tallahassee. My years in the private sector have equipped me with business insight that results in efficiencies and vision. Over the last three years I've been blessed to assemble an excellent, hard working, caring administration and staff who work together to find more efficient ways of providing good government to the citizens. We'd like to continue the good work we've started.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
As a statesman. I want to be remembered as a man of integrity and honesty providing excellent and efficient government to the people who elected me.

How can you help voters in a way that others running for this office cannot?
As an attorney of 11 years I have firsthand knowledge of the importance of the Clerk's office in the legal process. The current Clerk's denial of services, access, and efficiency has resulted in a denial of justice to the public.
What would you hope to be remembered for accomplishing after serving in this office?
Restoring the century-old practice of courthouse marriages in Duval County, and leaving a fully-functional, fully accessible Clerk's office with a happy and productive workforce.
