JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville’s Hart Bridge will close from 7 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Sunday for bridge repairs, and again on Sunday, Oct. 23, from 9 p.m. until midnight.
Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Atlantic Boulevard and signs will direct motorists to the Acosta Bridge, then to Broad Street. Westbound motorists will be detoured to Broad Street and signs will direct traffic to the Acosta Bridge and Atlantic Boulevard.

The improvements to the Hart Bridge include the replacement of wire rope, coating of structural steel, drainage work and steel plate rehabilitation.
Abhe & Svoboda Inc. was awarded the $4.3 million project. Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2017, weather and schedule permitting.
The Hart Bridge was opened in 1967 to relieve traffic on the Main Street and Mathews Bridges. The bridge is 3,844 feet long and spans 141 feet above the St. Johns River. Approximately 51,500 vehicles travel the bridge daily.
