Publix announced Thursday it will distribute COVID-19 vaccinations at its pharmacy in Kingsland and inside 107 other Publix pharmacies across the state of Georgia. But by the time most people heard about it, all available appointments were booked.
Vaccinations are provided by appointment only and are for first responders, health care workers, people age 65 and older and their caregivers, and residents and staff of long-term care facilities. Eligible individuals could make appointments began Friday, using the online reservation system at publix.com/covid-vaccine with vaccinations starting Saturday. The site says all appointments for all locations are fully booked and there was no information about when additional appointments would open.

Vaccinations are provided to eligible individuals by appointment only while supplies last and at no cost to the individual. Customers with health insurance will need to bring their insurance card to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members should bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
