GEORGIA – With duck hunting season coming up, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources wants hunters to review safety guidelines and learn about the new e-stamp.

Before waterfowl hunters can head to their favorite hunting ground on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, reviewing the rules and regulations and obtaining a license is essential.

A new seasonal license will give hunters a digital copy of their Federal Duck Stamp.

“New this year, thanks to the Duck Stamp Modernization Act, hunters don’t have to carry a physical copy of the Federal Duck Stamp as the electronic Federal Duck Stamp, or e-stamp, is now a legal seasonal license,” said Kara Nitschke, migratory gamebird biologist.

E-stamps will be valid from the date of purchase through Monday, Jun. 30, 2025.

The e-stamp can be purchased where other recreational licenses are sold at GoOutdoorsGeorgia.com.

Those who opt for the e-stamp should note that they will still be mailed a physical Duck Stamp after May 10 of the purchase year.

Official duck season dates are Nov. 23-Dec. 1 and Dec. 7 – Jan. 26.
