Brunswick Police Department’s newest K-9 recruit gets name after community poll

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Last week, The Brunswick Police Department asked for help naming their newest recruit — a Belgian Shepherd mix from Hungary — and the people delivered!

The City of Brunswick Police K-9 Team took to Facebook with a poll that included four choices: Narco, Rader, Luke and Onyx.

Meet Narco!

The K-9 will work alongside Officer Debuijin tracking and detecting narcotics, as well as apprehending suspects.

“Thank you everyone for who took the time to respond and participate!” the K-9 Team said. “We look forward to the future as K9 Narco and Ofc Debruijn embark on this journey together as partners and help keep the citizens of Brunswick safe!”
