NEWNAN, Ga. – A Georgia mother and a tattoo artist have been arrested south of Atlanta after school staff noticed a 12-year-old girl with a “Jesus loves” tattoo, according to a report from WALB.
The station reports that the girl's mother, Emma Nolan, 35, and tattoo artist Brenda Gaddy were booked into the Coweta County Jail on a charge of tattooing the body of any person under the age of 18.

According to WALB, an officer was called to Arnco Sargent Elementary School in Newnan, Georgia, after two fifth-grade teachers reported seeing the tattoo on the girl's right shoulder. They described the tattoo as “bluish green with 'Jesus' written above the cross and 'loves' written below.”
The girl initially told police her father made her get the tattoo, and then later said she wanted it.
According to WALB, Nolan told police the girl no longer sees her father and that she had no idea about him letting her get a tattoo.
The station reports that the tattoo was first noticed by a fifth-grade teacher when the girl wore a strapless dress to a school dance.
