Jacksonville, Palatka locations among 138 JC Penney stores closing

Liquidation to begin in April, company says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two northeast Florida JC Penney stores, one in Jacksonville and one in Palatka, are among the 138 stores that the company is closing.

The company is also closing a supply chain facility in Lakeland, Florida.

The Northside store is located in the Jacksonville Regional Shopping Center at Dunne Ave. and Lem Turner Road. The Palatka location is in the Palatka Mall on County Road 19.

Over 5,000 jobs will be impacted nationwide. The company said in February that the closures would take place in the second quarter of 2017. On Friday, the company said that most affected stores will begin the liquidation process on April 17.
